The side started practicing on 7th November 2024 with just three dancers. They were determined that the side would be fun and informal but we’ve grown very quickly forcing us to become a bit more organised. On 14th July 2025 we elected a Squire (Simon, one of our three founders), Bag (Jan), Dance Lead (Helen, another founder) and a Music Lead (Alfie). Helen immediately took charge of dance practice and started whipping the dancers into shape. Alfie found that leading musicians is like herding cats. Jan collected money from everyone. Simon spent the evening looking appropriately imperious.
